Martial Arts Instructor

I taught at Vision Martial Arts, helping me explore my own talents and creativity by teaching martial arts to students age 3.5 to adults. I worked mainly in our Almaden location, and taught for a total 6+ years including over Zoom.

• Hired as an Assistant Instructor - Summer 2015

• Earned Second Dan Black Belt, promoted to Instructor - Winter 2016

  • Independently teaching classes of the regular White-to-Black Belt curriculum, Black belt specific curriculum, Adult level classes, and Pre-K to Kindergarten aged students (ages 3.5 to 5 years old).

• Promoted to Senior Instructor - Summer 2017

  • Began to teach our Demo Team curriculum (more about this below).

  • Additional tasks involving managing new inquiries, sign ups and cancellations, phone calls emails, class changes, payments and inventory, etc.

• Earned Third Dan Black Belt - Winter 2019

  • Traveled to teach at other studio locations (Willow Glenn and Silver Creek) and occasionally substituted as Master Instructor.

  • Led seminar on Confidence to other instructors

  • Represented studio at a booth in an elementary school event, both performing and interesting prospect kids in beginning martial arts.

• COVID-19 Pandemic - Spring 2020

  • I stopped teaching once I started my first year in college (Fall 2019 to Spring 2020). Due to the pandemic, I once again taught classes and trained other instructors.

  • Fall 2020 to Spring 2021, I taught exclusively over Zoom.

  • I stopped working this job in Spring 2021.
