My research experience has been surprisingly extensive, venturing into the world of Anthropology and Environmental Injustice. After taking the UCI Anthro 25A class remotely in the Summer of 2020, I was offered an opportunity to perform research on a specific topic based on Environmental Injustice (EiJ). I accepted and began research in Fall 2020, and have since added and continued to add to my Picture Essay on Green Jobs, Technology, and Businesses under Professor Kim Fortun in the Disaster STS Network.
My research includes topics discussing the harsh misconceptions about recycling, costs versus benefits when creating certain technologies, the single use plastics stalemate, and current EiJ problems in the lab.
With the help of other members on the Advanced Research Group, I posted my research on the @environmental_injustice Instagram. In addition, I gave a presentation alongside Professor Kim Fortun to the American Academy of Environmental Engineers (AAEES) at UCI on November 12, 2020.
